An Airbnb in Uptown New Orleans is the ideal location for a base during your visit to The Big Easy. Uptown is located just west of downtown New Orleans and is the laid-back home to beautiful, 19th century mansions, Tulane University, a zoo, and many of the city’s top restaurants and bars.
The name can be a bit misleading. The Uptown New Orleans neighborhood originally referred to its direction relative to the Mississippi River. This area is up the river from the original core of New Orleans, but it is actually south and west of downtown. It was first laid out in 1833 and was eventually annexed by New Orleans in 1852.
Today, Uptown New Orleans is known as a bustling, yet relaxed district with stunning mansions and tree-lined streets mixed with some of the best bars and restaurants that the city has to offer. This neighborhood is so special that many celebrities have chosen to live here. NFL quarterbacks Drew Brees and Peyton Manning, rapper Lil Wayne, and musician Louis Armstrong have all called Uptown their home.
Make sure to check out all the quaint coffee shops, cozy restaurants and bistros, and lively bars while in the area. Read more about the best restaurants on the famous Magazine Street from this list by Eater.

Jessica said: “Stunning cottage! This place is so much bigger than it looks in the photos. The cozy cottage has plenty of space yet feels warm and is beautifully furnished. The linens were soft and clean. The beds were comfortable. The overall design from chosen materials of remodel to decorative pieces were fabulous and felt very upscale yet comfortable and welcoming. Hosts Katie and Terrance were very quick to respond whenever we had a question.
Our favorite part would have to have been the thoughtful added finishing touches. Hubby really appreciated the beer and snacks and I loved that we didn’t need a thing during our stay. Everything was truly wonderful and the home had everything we needed for our week long stay! The cottage came equipped with soaps, a baby pack and play, smart TVs, heater and AC as well as laundry essentials and dishes for every need. Kitchen amenities were top notch.
We never had a problem finding street parking just out front. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back the next time we visit NOLA! Thank you for providing the perfect little spot in a cute neighborhood just a few blocks from Magazine Street. Don’t keep scrolling and book now!

Everything was exactly as described & pictured, exceedingly clean & comfortable, & the neighborhood was very safe (based on our own experiences & our multiple Uber drivers’ opinions). It was definitely a highlight to be able to sit on the porch in the mornings & evenings & relax.

Jason said: “This place is Phenomenal! Hands down one of the Best Airbnb’s I’ve ever visited. The Hosts were incredible and so thoughtful and courteous. There were so many small details and minor things that just created an amazing experience for me during my stay. I would highly recommend this place because you get so much for what you pay for.
The hosts interaction, hospitality and communication alone stands out above any other Airbnb’s. I have no complaints at all and I’m sure you will feel the same. The place was so nice I decided to propose to my girlfriend instead of a random location in NOLA. This house is now apart of our history and memory of an amazing moment that Mike and Jack made so easy for us. The house is just amazing and so comfortable! My expectations were exceeded and this is the only Airbnb that I will use when I’m in NOLA!!! Enjoy your stay.”
